Neocarnism
A belief system characteristic of former animal rights advocates who collaborate with various segments of the animal-using industry and participate in development, certification, endorsement, or promotion of alternative “humane” animal products, sometimes called “happy meat.” Practitioners of neocarnism claim these activities do not create a conflict of interest for animal advocates, even for those who believe using and killing animals is morally wrong. They refuse to consume the same animal products they recommend to the public, citing personal ethical objections. Similarly, they promote animal husbandry practices and procedures that they themselves would likely refuse to carry out on animals for reasons of compassion and ethics. The thought behind neocarnism is largely derived from philosopher Peter Singer’s Utilitarianism. Il sistema di credenze caratteristico degli ex sostenitori per i diritti animali che credono che la collaborazione con vari segmenti dell’industria che usa animali non crea un conflitto di interessi per i sostenitori degli animali, anche per coloro che credono che osare e uccidere animali sia moralmente sbagliato. Coloro che praticano il neo-carnismo partecipano apertamente allo sviluppo, certificazione, approvazione, o promozione dei prodotti animali “umani ” alternativi chiamati “carne felice”. Essi rifiutano di consumare gli stessi prodotti animali che raccomandano al pubblico, citando obblighi morali personali. Similmente, promuovono pratiche zootecniche che loro stessi rifiuterebbero di applicare sugli animali per ragioni di compassione ed etica. Il pensiero alla base del neo-carnismo è largamente derivato dal l’utilitarismo del filosofo Peter Singer.
